OVERVIEW

Set like print, delivered like the web.

For writing that does not need a sidebar. A sixty-five character measure, real small caps, and footnotes that sit in the margin instead of the bottom of the page.

There is one column and no way to add a second. Everything that would normally live in a sidebar either moves to the footer or stops existing, which turns out to be the right answer more often than not.

Typography was set from the OpenType tables outward: real small caps, oldstyle figures in running text, lining figures in tables, and fractions that do not look like an accident.

The first theme where my footnotes looked deliberate.

WHAT YOU GET

Typography taken seriously.

OpenType properly used

Small caps, oldstyle figures, discretionary ligatures and fractions, each switched on where it belongs and nowhere else.

Margin notes

Footnotes live beside the paragraph that raised them and collapse into the flow only when the screen runs out of room.

Citation block

A block that formats a reference and exposes it as BibTeX for anyone who wants to cite the piece.

No furniture

No sidebar, no related posts, no share row. The article ends and the reader decides what happens next.
